UAE Embassy Attestation from India: Steps, Time and Fees
UAE embassy attestation is how an Indian degree, marriage certificate, birth certificate or company document becomes valid for a job, visa or licence in the UAE. INFINITYGRO handles the India-side stages, the MEA and the UAE Embassy in New Delhi, and guides you through the final online MOFA step.

How do you get UAE embassy attestation in India? An Indian authority first authenticates the document: Notary and SDM in Delhi for most degrees and personal certificates, or a Chamber of Commerce for company papers. The MEA then attests it, the UAE Embassy in New Delhi legalizes it, and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs completes the file online. A degree by the Delhi route usually takes 5 to 7 working days.
What UAE embassy attestation is
The United Arab Emirates is not part of the Hague Apostille Convention, so an Apostille from India is not accepted there. Instead, the UAE relies on its own diplomats in India to confirm Indian documents, and on its Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give the final approval once the document is in use in the country.
UAE employers, free zones, licensing bodies and immigration offices ask for this attestation before they accept an Indian degree, issue a family visa or register a company. Without it the document is treated as unverified.
The same process is called UAE embassy attestation, UAE consulate attestation or simply UAE attestation. For documents going to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or any other emirate, the route is the same. Moving to Dubai? See our Dubai attestation guide for what Dubai employers, KHDA and DHA usually ask for.

How to keep a UAE file on time
Most delays come from names. The UAE side compares the name on your degree or marriage certificate with your passport, so a missing middle name or a different spelling needs an affidavit before the notary step, not after.
The second cause is the wrong first step. If your employer's checklist asks for state HRD verification and the document went through the Delhi route, the file has to restart. Share the checklist with us at the start and we follow it exactly.

UAE attestation FAQs
What is UAE embassy attestation?
It is the legalization of an Indian document by the UAE Embassy in New Delhi or the UAE Consulate in Mumbai, after MEA attestation, so that it is accepted in the UAE. It is followed by attestation from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is now done online.
Does the UAE accept an Apostille from India?
No. The UAE is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so Indian documents for the UAE need MEA attestation and UAE Embassy attestation instead.
How long does UAE attestation take for a degree?
By the Delhi route (Notary, SDM, MEA, UAE Embassy) a degree certificate usually takes about 5 to 7 working days, followed by the online UAE MOFA attestation.
Do I need state HRD verification for a UAE degree?
Only if your employer's checklist or the licensing authority asks for it. For most UAE files the Delhi route with Notary and SDM is accepted.
Is UAE Embassy attestation the same as UAE Consulate attestation?
Yes, it is the same step at a different office. The UAE accepts either the Embassy in New Delhi or the Consulate General in Mumbai. We file at the Embassy in New Delhi.
Is attestation for Dubai different from the rest of the UAE?
No. Dubai is an emirate of the UAE, so documents for Dubai follow the same UAE Embassy and UAE MOFA route. What can differ is what each employer or authority in Dubai or Abu Dhabi asks for in its checklist.
