Venezuela Apostille for Indian Documents
Venezuela has been an Apostille Convention member since March 1999, so a Venezuela apostille issued by India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is accepted without embassy legalization. Fewer Indians deal with Venezuela than with Europe or the Gulf. That makes clear local instructions important, because a generic checklist may not match what a Venezuelan office expects.

Documents from India for Venezuela
How is an Indian document made valid for Venezuela? The document is verified in India by the state department, a notary and SDM, or a Chamber of Commerce. MEA then issues the Venezuela apostille, and no embassy step is needed. Venezuelan offices work in Spanish, so the document is usually translated by a public interpreter (intérprete público) in Venezuela before it is filed.
Start with the Venezuelan office's list
Because Indian-Venezuelan cases are less common, Indian agents rarely have a tested checklist. The best first step is to get the exact list from the Venezuelan registry, university, lawyer or company that will receive your papers. Ask which documents they want, how recent they must be, and who should translate them.
With that list, the Indian side is straightforward.
Venezuelan lawyers and registries can also say whether they need documents issued within a certain period. Birth and marriage certificates are easy to re-order in most Indian states, so getting a fresh certified copy before the apostille is often the safer path.

Spanish translation and the public interpreter
Venezuelan authorities generally expect official translations by an intérprete público, a translator authorised in Venezuela. This is usually done after the document arrives. A Spanish translation from India may help as a working copy for a lawyer or employer.
INFINITYGRO arranges Spanish translations. See our translation service.
Marriage and family documents
Indians marrying Venezuelan nationals, or registering a child born abroad, typically need a birth certificate and proof of marital status, and later a marriage certificate. Each must be apostilled separately. Names must match the passport exactly. Spanish naming customs use two surnames, so explain any differences in a short covering note.
Study and academic records
Indian students are a small group in Venezuela, but researchers and postgraduate applicants do apply to Venezuelan universities, and Venezuelans who studied in India need their Indian degrees accepted at home. Universities usually want an apostilled degree and transcript, sometimes with course details.
The education department of the state where the university sits verifies these before MEA. If the degree and transcript come from different offices of the same university, send both together so they travel through the same state round. See degree certificate apostille.
Business and professional papers
Indian firms in pharmaceuticals, energy services and trading sometimes deal with Venezuelan partners. Partners and lawyers may ask for an apostilled certificate of incorporation, board resolution, power of attorney or certificate of origin. These start with a Chamber of Commerce. Professionals posted to Venezuela may need apostilled degrees and experience letters, which are notarised first.
See commercial documents.
A power of attorney for use in Venezuela should name the representative as shown in their Venezuelan identity document. It should be signed by an authorised director, notarised and then taken through the Chamber of Commerce before the apostille. Ask the Venezuelan lawyer for the wording they need, because Venezuelan notaries and registries may require specific powers to be listed.
