Sudan Embassy Attestation for Graduates and Exporters
Sudan embassy attestation is most often requested by Sudanese students who finished a degree in India and need it recognised back home. Sudan does not take the Apostille from India, so the document goes through state verification, attestation by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and legalization at the Embassy of Sudan in New Delhi.

Documents from India for Sudan
What is the process for Sudan embassy attestation? For Sudan embassy attestation, the paper is first verified in India: degrees by the state education department, personal papers by the home department or a notary and SDM, and trade papers by a Chamber of Commerce. The MEA then attests it, and the Sudan Embassy in New Delhi legalizes it. Arabic translation is often needed in Sudan.
Sudanese Graduates of Indian Universities
Many Sudanese students study in India, in subjects from engineering and pharmacy to business and medicine. At the end of the course they need the degree, transcripts and sometimes a course completion or medium of instruction letter legalized. Without that, Sudan's higher education authorities and employers may not accept the qualification.
Start before you leave India if you can. Originals are easier to collect from the university while you are still here, and any corrections are quicker. See our degree certificate guide.

Sudan Embassy Attestation, Stage by Stage
- University and state. The degree is verified through the education department of the state where the university sits. Some states first ask the university to confirm the degree.
- MEA attestation. The MEA attests the state officer's signature.
- Sudan Embassy. The embassy in New Delhi legalizes the paper.
- Courier back to you or to someone you name in India.
Our embassy attestation page explains the general process.
Letters Universities Issue
Sudanese authorities sometimes ask for more than the degree. Keep these in mind:
- Mark sheets or a consolidated transcript for every year.
- A medium of instruction letter, stating the course was taught in English.
- A course duration or bonafide letter on university letterhead.
- Internship or training completion certificates for health courses.
Letters on letterhead need a proper signature and seal. Each one is attested separately.
Medical and Health Graduates
Health graduates usually need a larger set. Along with the degree and transcripts, the medical or pharmacy council in Sudan may ask for internship completion, a registration certificate from the Indian council where one was issued, and a good standing letter. Each paper is verified at its source in India, attested by the MEA and legalized by the embassy.
Council letters are often signed by an officer whose signature the state department must recognise. Send us a scan first. We check which route each letter takes before you post the originals.
Arabic Translation
Arabic is the main language of Sudanese government offices. Many accept English, but some will want a translation. Ask whether it must be done in Sudan. If an Indian translation is accepted, we arrange certified Arabic translation.
Indian Exports to Sudan
India exports pharmaceuticals, food products, machinery and vehicles to Sudan. Importers and regulators there may ask for legalized invoices, a certificate of origin, or company and product papers. These start at a Chamber of Commerce. Conditions in Sudan have been unsettled, so confirm the buyer's current needs before you begin. See commercial documents.
Keep the consignee name and address the same on the invoice, packing list and certificate of origin. Sudanese importers' banks often compare them before releasing payment.
Mistakes We See
- A name on the degree that does not match the passport, often because of a different word order in Arabic names.
- Missing transcripts for one or more years.
- An Apostille instead of MEA attestation.
- Leaving India before collecting the originals from the university.
