Yemen Embassy Attestation for Indian Trade and Personal Documents
Yemen embassy attestation is required for Indian documents going to Yemen, as the two countries do not exchange apostilles. Papers go through state or Chamber of Commerce verification, then MEA attestation, then the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in New Delhi. INFINITYGRO handles this chain for exporters, students and families across India.

Documents from India for Yemen
What route do Indian documents follow for Yemen? Commercial papers start at a Chamber of Commerce. Personal and educational papers start at the state department, notary and SDM, or university. MEA then gives normal attestation, with no MEA fee. Yemen embassy attestation in New Delhi is the final Indian step. Arabic translation is often required, so ask your buyer or sponsor which documents need it.
Arabic is the working language
Yemeni offices, courts and many importers work in Arabic. For most Yemen files, the question is not only which stamps are needed but which papers need an Arabic version. Ask your buyer, sponsor or university for that list before you start. INFINITYGRO arranges certified Arabic translation and can tell you whether the translation should go through attestation with the original.
Names are the main risk. A buyer name written one way in Arabic and another way in English across the invoice and certificate can stop goods at the port. Agree the spellings before the chamber stage.

Who sends documents to Yemen
India supplies Yemen with rice, sugar, pharmaceuticals, food products and other goods, so exporters make up a large share of Yemen files. Yemeni students also study in India and later need Indian degrees and marksheets legalized for use at home. Families and patients who came to India for medical treatment may need medical or birth records legalized.
Exporters usually need Yemen files quickly, since documents follow or travel with the cargo. Plan the chamber, MEA and embassy stages before the ship sails. Sending a complete, matching set the first time is the best way to avoid delays at the destination.
Yemen embassy attestation, stage by stage
- First stage. A recognised Chamber of Commerce authenticates commercial papers, after notarisation if required. Universities or state education departments verify degrees. The state Home or GAD department, or notary and SDM, verifies personal records.
- MEA attestation. MEA attests the verifying signature through its authorised outsourced centre.
- Embassy of Yemen. The embassy in New Delhi legalizes the paper under its own rules and fees.
Our embassy attestation service page explains how we handle the final stage.
Every stage relies on the one before it. MEA will not attest a paper without the chamber or state stamp, and the embassy will not legalize one without MEA's stamp. Papers with handwritten corrections, missing pages or lamination are refused. Some Yemeni offices may also check legalized papers after arrival. Ask your buyer or sponsor whether that applies to your documents.
Export papers for Yemeni buyers
Yemeni importers commonly ask for a legalized certificate of origin, commercial invoice and packing list. Food shipments may also need health, halal or phytosanitary certificates from their Indian issuers. The chamber stage comes first. Every paper must show the same consignee, invoice number and goods description.
Confirm the Arabic spelling of the consignee with your buyer. Differences between the English and Arabic names cause problems at the destination.
Yemeni students graduating in India
Yemeni students at Indian universities usually need their degree, transcripts and sometimes a migration certificate legalized before returning. The university verifies first. Then MEA attests and the Yemeni Embassy legalizes. Our degree certificate page explains university verification.
Patients who received treatment in India sometimes need hospital discharge summaries or medical certificates legalized for insurance or employers in Yemen. These usually need notarisation and the verification MEA accepts before the embassy stage. Send us a scan and we will confirm the route.
