Where is a Rajasthan university degree verified before the MEA? Most files use the Delhi route: a notary, then the SDM in Delhi, then the MEA. If a body abroad wants state verification, Rajasthan's Education and Higher Education department in Jaipur checks the degree first. Either way, a degree certificate apostille in Rajasthan ends with the MEA stamp, which costs Rs 50 per document in government fee.
Rajasthan universities we see in client files
Rajasthan has a broad mix of old affiliating universities, newer state universities and national institutes. Here are the issuers that come up most.
- University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, one of the oldest universities in the state.
- Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, with colleges across southern Rajasthan.
- Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer.
- Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, for engineering and management degrees from affiliated colleges.

Rajasthan also has many private universities, especially around Jaipur. Their degrees follow the same apostille steps.
Some universities have been renamed or split over the years, so a degree from the 1990s may show a different name from the one in use today. That does not affect the apostille. The MEA works with the original as issued.

Jaipur state check or Delhi route?
Both end at the same MEA stamp. The difference is who signs before the ministry.
Delhi route
A notary attests the degree and the SDM in Delhi verifies the notary. Most universities and employers abroad accept this. It is usually the quicker choice, often 2 to 3 working days.
Rajasthan state route
The Education and Higher Education department in Jaipur verifies the degree. Pick this only when the receiving body asks for state verification.
e-Sanad
If your university is connected to the MEA's e-Sanad platform, verification and apostille can be done online. A passport copy is needed because the passport number goes into the system.

Medical and dental graduates of RUHS colleges may need extra documents for foreign councils, such as an internship completion certificate. Those are separate items, so list them when you first contact us.
Notes for Jaipur and Udaipur graduates
Jaipur is the base for the University of Rajasthan, RUHS, MNIT and many private universities. It is also where the state education department sits, so a state check is practical for Jaipur clients who need one. We still see many Jaipur clients choose the Delhi route because the capital is close.
Udaipur clients usually hold Mohanlal Sukhadia University degrees, or degrees from the agriculture and technology university based there. Many are going to the Gulf, Australia or Canada. Courier from Udaipur to Delhi is straightforward, and we return the originals to the same address.
We do not offer pickup in either city. Delhi NCR clients can drop papers at our office in person.
Graduates from Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer and Bikaner follow exactly the same courier process. Pack the degree flat between two pieces of card, write your phone number on the note inside, and keep the courier receipt until we confirm arrival.
Year-wise marks, transcripts and provisional degrees
Rajasthan universities often issue a mark sheet for each year or semester. Every one of them needs its own apostille. A transcript is another separate document.
A provisional degree is not the same as the convocation degree. Some foreign universities accept it at admission, but immigration and licensing bodies usually want the final degree. If your final degree is still pending, ask the university when it will be issued before you plan the apostille.
Older Hindi-medium mark sheets may need a certified English translation. Our translation service can prepare one.
Papers the MEA will turn back
- Photocopies of any kind, even if attested.
- Laminated degrees, because the reverse cannot be stamped.
- Degrees with a name that does not match the passport, unless an affidavit is added.
- Badly damaged originals; get a duplicate from the university first.
The ministry only checks the verifying officer's signature, not your marks. A clean original keeps the file moving.
Since July 2012 the MEA has accepted documents only through its authorised outsourced centres, not from individuals at its counter. That is the step we take care of in Delhi on your behalf.
Which countries accept the stamp
The UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and most European countries accept the Indian apostille. China and Germany are the two notable exceptions. Germany has its own embassy verification for Indian papers.
Many Rajasthan graduates go to the UAE, Kuwait or Qatar for work. These are not Convention members, so the degree needs MEA attestation and embassy legalization. Our embassy attestation service covers this, and the UAE fees page lists that route.
