Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University in Raipur is the oldest and largest. Other state universities serve Bilaspur, Durg, Bastar and Surguja regions. Agricultural, medical and open university degrees are also issued in the state.
Central and national
Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya in Bilaspur is a central university. NIT Raipur, IIT Bhilai, IIM Raipur and AIIMS Raipur issue their own degrees.
Technical

How degree certificate apostille in Chhattisgarh is routed
All three routes end with the MEA. The choice depends on what the receiving body wants.
- Delhi route: notary, SDM in Delhi, MEA. Most receiving bodies abroad accept it for Chhattisgarh degrees.
- Raipur state route: the Higher Education department verifies the degree first. Used when a foreign university, employer or licensing body asks for state verification.
- e-Sanad: online, for universities connected to the MEA system. Your passport number is entered, so keep a copy ready.

Raipur and nearby districts
Raipur is the capital and the base of Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, NIT Raipur, AIIMS Raipur and the state departments. Clients here sometimes ask whether they should go to the department themselves. If the foreign body has not asked for a state check, the Delhi route usually means less running around.
Engineering graduates from NIT Raipur and IIT Bhilai often need degrees for master's programmes in the USA, Canada or Europe. Doctors from AIIMS Raipur and the state medical colleges usually need extra papers for foreign medical councils.
Clients in Bhilai, Durg and Bilaspur send papers the same way. Courier the originals to our New Ashok Nagar office; we do not offer pickup. Once the apostille is done we return them by Blue Dart or a similar tracked service.
Mark sheets, transcripts and provisional papers
- Each yearly or semester mark sheet is a separate apostille.
- A transcript is one more document.
- The convocation degree itself counts once more.
- A provisional certificate is a temporary pass document and differs from the convocation degree.
Count all of these before you post them. The fee is per document, and an extra item found later means a second round.

Planning the papers for your application
Different receiving bodies want different sets. A university abroad may ask for every mark sheet plus the degree. An employer may want only the degree. A medical or nursing council may want the degree with internship or registration papers.
Read the checklist from the receiving body and share it with us before you post anything. We will tell you which papers take the apostille, which can stay as plain copies, and what the total will be. This avoids paying for stamps that nobody will read, and it avoids a second courier trip for a paper that was missed.
If you are applying to more than one country, tell us that as well. A degree for the UK and one for Dubai follow different routes, and we can plan both in a single file.
Condition of your original degree
The MEA works only with originals. A laminated degree cannot be stamped on its back, so it may need a fresh copy from the university. Your name must match the passport, or an affidavit is needed.
If your degree is lost or badly damaged, apply to the university for a duplicate first. The MEA can only stamp what the verification step has accepted.
Look for the Registrar or Controller signature and the university seal. If either is missing or faded, send us a photo before you post the degree.
What happens at the ministry
The MEA confirms the signature of the verifying officer. It does not check your marks or the course. Since July 2012 the ministry has taken documents only through authorised outsourced centres, which is where we file your degree.
Once a document carries the apostille, it is accepted in any Convention country that accepts India, without a further embassy stamp. Keep a scan of the stamped degree for your records.
The government fee is Rs 50 per document. Our all-inclusive Delhi route charge is Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per document, with courier extra.
Destination countries
The apostille is accepted in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and most of Europe. China and Germany are the two places where it does not help.
