PCC Apostille in Goa for Work, Study and Migration
A PCC apostille in Goa usually involves a certificate from the Regional Passport Office in Panaji or a clearance issued by Goa Police. The two follow different paths to the Ministry of External Affairs. INFINITYGRO sorts out which path applies and handles the attestation, the apostille and the tracked return.

Does a Goa passport PCC need a notary before the apostille? No. A passport PCC from RPO Panaji is signed by a passport officer, so PCC apostille in Goa for that certificate goes straight to the MEA. A Goa Police clearance or verification certificate is different. It needs a notary and an SDM in Delhi, or the Home Department at Porvorim, before the apostille.
The Passport Office at Panaji
Goa is served by one Regional Passport Office, in Panaji. You apply for a Police Clearance Certificate on passportindia.gov.in, book a Passport Seva Kendra visit, and the RPO issues the PCC once police verification is complete. The certificate is signed by a passport officer of the central government.
That signature is what makes the passport PCC simple to apostille. There is no notary, no SDM and no state department in between. MEA has also authorised RPO Goa to issue apostilles, so ask us how that affects your case.

Goa Police Clearance and Verification Certificates
When Goa Police launched its e-policing services, the state said citizens could apply online for a police clearance certificate, a police verification certificate and tenant verification. These certificates are signed by police officers, not passport officers.
For the MEA, that difference matters. A police-issued certificate is treated as a personal document. It must first be attested on the Delhi route through a notary and an SDM, or on the state route through the Under Secretary Home-II at Porvorim. Only then can the MEA add the apostille.
If you hold a passport PCC that the RPO issued some time ago, check its date before sending. An older certificate may be refused abroad even if the apostille itself is fine.

Panaji Applicants and North and South Goa
Applicants in Panaji are closest to the RPO. Residents of Margao, Vasco, Mapusa and Ponda use the same RPO for a passport PCC, with police verification done by the station covering their address. For a Goa Police certificate, the local police handle the check.
Once you have the certificate, courier it to us from anywhere in Goa. We have no home pickup. Delhi NCR visitors can drop it at our office in person.
Goans working abroad sometimes apply while on leave, then fly out before the certificate arrives. If that happens, a family member can courier the PCC to us once it is issued. We send the apostilled certificate to whichever address in India you give us.
Which Type Your Destination Wants
There is no single rule, and every country decides for itself. Broadly, immigration authorities and long-stay visa sections tend to ask for the passport PCC. Some employers, ship managers and universities accept a local police certificate. Seafarers and hospitality workers from Goa often see both requests, so read the checklist carefully.
If the wording mentions a passport authority or a national record, choose the passport PCC.
If the checklist is unclear, forward it to us. We see these requests from many countries and can usually point out which certificate the wording is asking for, though the final word belongs to the receiving office.
Age of the Certificate and Name Matching
Receiving offices usually want a recent PCC. The accepted age differs between countries, so ask the office for its window before applying. Then plan for courier time from Goa to Delhi and back.
Your name on the PCC must match your passport. If an initial or spelling differs, an affidavit may be needed before attestation.
PCC Apostille in Goa for Seafarers and Hotel Staff
A large share of our Goa enquiries come from people joining ships, cruise lines and hotels abroad. Crewing agencies often send a document list that mentions a police clearance without saying which kind. Ask the agency directly whether it wants the passport PCC or a Goa Police certificate. Ask too whether the apostille is enough or embassy legalization is needed for the flag state or employer's country.
Many of these clients also need a degree, diploma or marriage certificate processed. Send everything in one packet and we will handle each document on its own route, returning them together. Every document receives a separate apostille and MEA fee.
A spouse joining you may also need a marriage certificate. See marriage certificate apostille in Goa.
Apostille Countries and Exceptions
The UK, Portugal, the USA, Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and most of Europe accept the apostille. China does not, and Germany checks Indian documents through its embassy. The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait need MEA attestation followed by embassy legalization. Our UAE attestation charges page explains that route.

Goa police clearance certificate apostille FAQs
Can you apply for a Goa PCC for me?
No. You apply and attend the verification yourself. We take over once the signed certificate is issued.
Is a printout of an online Goa Police certificate acceptable?
Send us a scan first. We will check whether it can be attested as issued or whether a signed copy is needed.
Do family members need separate apostilles?
Yes. Each PCC is its own document with its own apostille, although we can process them together.
Does the apostille confirm I have no record?
No. It confirms only the signature of the officer who issued or attested the certificate.
Is the Goa RPO apostille the same as an MEA apostille?
The MEA authorised RPO Goa to issue apostilles, and an apostille is the same certificate whichever authorised office issues it. We will tell you whether using Panaji or Delhi is quicker for your document.
Can I collect the certificate in Delhi?
Yes. Clients in Delhi NCR may collect it from our office. Others receive it by tracked courier. To begin, send a scan through the contact page or on WhatsApp.
