Birth Certificate Apostille in Madhya Pradesh for Overseas Use
A birth certificate apostille in Madhya Pradesh begins with the certificate from the registrar where the birth took place, such as the nagar nigam in Bhopal, Indore or Gwalior, or the gram panchayat in a village. INFINITYGRO checks it, has it attested and lodges it with the Ministry of External Affairs. You send the original by courier and receive it back the same way.

Can an MP nagar nigam birth certificate be apostilled? Yes. An original issued by the registrar of a municipal corporation, municipality or gram panchayat qualifies for birth certificate apostille in Madhya Pradesh. It is notarised and attested by an SDM in Delhi, or attested on the state route in Bhopal, and then the MEA adds the apostille. Hindi certificates usually need a certified English translation as well.
Registration Rules That Shape Your Certificate
Madhya Pradesh follows the national Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969. Under it, a birth is registered at the place where it happens. The registrar for a city is usually an official of the municipal corporation or municipality. In rural areas, the registrar covers the gram panchayat.
Since 1 October 2023, the amended Act makes a digital birth certificate the single document that proves a date of birth for children born after that date. Certificates for those children are issued through the Registrar General's Civil Registration System. Older certificates issued on paper remain valid.
Hospitals in Indore and Bhopal report births to the registrar, but the hospital's discharge papers are not a birth certificate. Only the registrar's certificate can be apostilled.

Before the Certificate Leaves Your Hands
Spend five minutes on these checks. They prevent most rejections.
- It must be the original. The MEA never apostilles a photocopy.
- The registrar's seal and signature must be readable.
- Lamination is a problem, because the stamp goes on the back.
- The child's name must appear. If it is blank, the registrar can add it free within 12 months of registration, and with a fee up to 15 years.
- Parents' names should match their passports. If not, prepare an affidavit.
Birth Certificate Apostille in Madhya Pradesh: Delhi or Bhopal
Most clients choose the Delhi route. The original is notarised first, then countersigned by a Delhi SDM, and finally apostilled by the MEA. The route accepts personal documents from every state and usually finishes in 2 to 3 working days. We charge Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per document for the whole Delhi route, plus courier.
The state route goes through the authority the MEA lists for Madhya Pradesh in Bhopal, and then to the MEA. Use it only if the foreign office has asked for state attestation. Read about the final step on our MEA apostille page.
Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior
Bhopal. City births are registered with the Bhopal Municipal Corporation, while births in surrounding villages go to the panchayat registrar.
Indore. Indore Municipal Corporation handles registration for its area, including births in the many private hospitals in the city.
Gwalior. The Gwalior Municipal Corporation registers births inside the city.
From all three cities, clients courier the original with a passport copy of the person named. We do not collect documents from homes. If you are in Delhi NCR, you may drop it at our New Ashok Nagar office.
What to Put in the Envelope
For a smooth birth certificate apostille in Madhya Pradesh, send everything in one go. Include the original certificate kept flat, a copy of the passport of the person named on it, and copies of the parents' passports if their names are spelt differently on the certificate. Add a note with your phone number, the destination country and the purpose, such as a student visa or a residence permit.
We inspect the packet on the day it arrives and message you. If something will cause a problem at the SDM or MEA stage, we tell you before starting. That way you can get a fresh copy from the registrar instead of paying twice.
Translating a Hindi Certificate
Many MP certificates carry Hindi text. Embassies and schools abroad usually want a certified English version, and a few countries want their own language. Our team can get it translated and certified in any major language. Check with the receiving office whether the translation also needs an apostille, because practice varies by country.
Details are on our translation service section.
Late Registration and Old Paper Records
A birth should be reported within 21 days. If it was not, Section 13 of the Act allows delayed registration on payment of the prescribed fee and with the permissions that apply to the delay. Complete that process with the local registrar first, because the MEA does not change any entry.
Families sometimes hold a handwritten certificate from decades ago. It is still a valid document in India. A receiving office abroad may prefer a computerised copy, so ask early and request one from the same registrar if needed.
Destinations and Practical Details
Typical uses include a child's passport or visa abroad, school admission, residence permits, citizenship by descent and OCI-related use. An apostille is enough for the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, the Gulf apostille members and most European countries. Germany and China do not. The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait need MEA attestation plus embassy legalization, which our embassy attestation service handles.
Each certificate is a separate apostille with its own Rs 50 MEA fee, so two children mean two documents. We send a WhatsApp update when your packet arrives and again when it ships back by Blue Dart or a similar tracked courier.

Madhya Pradesh birth certificate apostille FAQs
Can I get a certificate printed from the CRS portal apostilled?
Send us the printout or file first. If the digital signature can be verified at the attestation stage, it can go forward. Otherwise we will suggest a signed copy from the registrar.
Must I come to the Delhi office?
No. Courier the original to our office. Delhi NCR clients may drop it off and collect it in person.
Does the apostille confirm the date of birth?
No. It confirms the signature of the officer who attested the document, not the details printed on it.
What if the hospital name is wrong on the certificate?
Ask the registrar who issued it to correct the entry. Send it to us only after the corrected certificate is in hand.
How do I start?
