Which body issues polytechnic and ITI certificates in Himachal Pradesh? The Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala, set up under a 1986 Act, conducts exams for AICTE-approved polytechnics and for NCVT and SCVT ITIs. For a diploma certificate apostille in Himachal Pradesh, the original board certificate is notarised, signed by an SDM in Delhi and apostilled by the MEA. Each mark sheet is a separate document.
The HP Takniki Shiksha Board
The board was created under the H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board Act, 1986. It is based at Dari in Dharamshala, in Kangra district. It conducts exams for affiliated polytechnics approved by AICTE.
It also runs exams for ITIs registered under NCVT and SCVT, and lists D.Pharmacy academic calendars. So engineering diplomas, pharmacy diplomas and many ITI results trace back to one board.
The board's website also offers migration certificates and links to DigiLocker. A DigiLocker copy is useful for checks, but the MEA apostilles the physical original on the Delhi route.

How a diploma certificate apostille in Himachal Pradesh is processed
- Send. Courier the original board diploma and the mark sheets you need.

- Notary and SDM. The paper is notarised, then signed by an SDM in Delhi.
- MEA. We file through an authorised outsourced centre. The MEA charges Rs 50 for each paper.
- Return. It comes back to you by Blue Dart or a similar tracked courier.
The Delhi route usually takes 2 to 3 working days after we receive the original. Courier time in the hills is extra.

Nursing diplomas and the HP Nurses Registration Council
The HP Nurses Registration Council registers GNM, ANM, MPW (F), FHW and Female Health Supervisor personnel. It is also the examining body for these courses and publishes their results.
Nurses applying abroad usually need the course certificate and the registration certificate. Each is a separate apostille. The council also issues NOCs for reciprocal registration with other state councils.

Keep your registration number with the council handy. Overseas regulators often ask for it.
Why the board record matters
The apostille confirms a signature, not your marks. If an overseas employer wants to check the diploma, it contacts the board or council that issued it. A clean, matching record there protects you.
Where a receiver insists on state verification first, the MEA list names Himachal's Home Department and the Higher Education Directorate in Shimla. We advise when that is needed. Most diploma files use the Delhi route.

Diploma holders in Shimla

Diploma holders with a later degree
Many polytechnic graduates from Himachal later complete a B.Tech through lateral entry, often at a college under HPTU Hamirpur. If you apply abroad with both, the receiver may want both apostilled. The diploma and the degree have different issuers, so each is handled on its own.
Some universities abroad want only the highest qualification. Others want every step from Class 10. Ask for the exact list before you post anything. Sending everything at once saves a second round of courier costs.

ITI holders going abroad for work
Electricians, fitters and welders from Himachal often find work in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain, which accept the apostille. Your NCVT or SCVT certificate is apostilled from the original.
If you are heading to the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait, those countries need attestation instead. Our embassy attestation service covers them. China and Germany do not accept India's apostille.
Some employers also ask for an experience letter. That is a separate document with its own process.
Gulf employers sometimes ask for a separate trade test as well, which has nothing to do with the apostille.
