Can a Minicoy polytechnic diploma be apostilled? Yes. A diploma certificate apostille in Lakshadweep normally uses the Delhi route: notary, SDM in Delhi, then the MEA. The Minicoy polytechnic received AICTE approval, and Pondicherry University gave a no-objection for affiliation of its programmes. The Minicoy polytechnic and its diplomas
In July 2021 the Lakshadweep administration announced a polytechnic college on Minicoy island. It received AICTE approval, and Pondicherry Central University issued a no-objection certificate for affiliating its engineering and technology programmes.
The college offers three-year diplomas in Marine Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Each course started with an intake of 30 students a year.
Pondicherry University's page for Lakshadweep also lists a one-year diploma in catering and hospitality at the government college on Kadmat. Graduates of these courses are only now reaching the job market abroad.

Diplomas earned in Kerala and elsewhere
Before the Minicoy college opened, most islanders who wanted a technical diploma went to the mainland. Many studied at polytechnics in Kerala, under the State Board of Technical Education, Kerala. Others went to Karnataka or Tamil Nadu.

Lakshadweep does not appear on the MEA list of state and territory authentication authorities. That leaves the Delhi route as the practical option for most islanders.

Store certificates in a sealed plastic folder. Never laminate them. If a seal has faded, ask the issuing institution for a duplicate before you start.

Kavaratti is home to the Collectorate. If a foreign body insists on local verification, ask the Collectorate in writing what it can provide. Minicoy is where the polytechnic sits, so diploma holders there can ask the college about duplicates or confirmation letters.
