Sikkim's government polytechnics run under the Directorate of Technical Education in the state's HRD set-up, so check the issuer printed on your paper. Sikkim's polytechnics and how their diplomas are issued
Sikkim has a small number of polytechnics. The two best known are the Advanced Technical Training Centre at Bardang near Rangpo, and the Centre for Computers and Communication Technology at Chisopani in South Sikkim. Both are AICTE-approved and run under the Directorate of Technical Education of the state government.
Mechatronics and manufacturing technology diplomas from ATTC, and computer and electronics diplomas from CCCT, are common in our Sikkim files.

Sikkim nurses and ITI tradespeople
GNM and ANM courses in Sikkim are run by nursing schools and colleges, some within private universities. The issuer on your paper may be the university, the institute or a nursing body. A nurse moving abroad usually needs the diploma, the yearly mark sheets and a registration certificate. Each of these is apostilled on its own.
ITI certificates are issued under NCVT at the national level or SCVT at the state level. Note which one you hold, because foreign recruiters sometimes ask.
Hospitality is a big employer in Sikkim, and some hotel management and tourism diplomas come from institutes rather than boards. Diploma holders in Gangtok
Most of our Sikkim diploma clients send papers from Gangtok. Courier deliveries to and from the hills can take longer during heavy rain or landslides, so build in time before any job joining date.
Technicians in Namchi, Rangpo and Singtam, close to the two polytechnics, usually send their papers through couriers in those towns.
Wrap the diploma in a plastic sleeve and keep it flat. Include a note with your name, phone number and the list of papers. The finished papers travel back to Sikkim by Blue Dart or another courier with tracking. We have no pickup arrangement in the hills.
When Sikkim's HRD Exam Cell should see the diploma
For a diploma certificate apostille in Sikkim, the state route runs through the HRD Department's Exam Cell in Gangtok. The Home Department (Protocol) is also on the MEA list. Choose it if a foreign employer or licensing body has asked for verification by the state government.
Because Sikkim's polytechnics are themselves under the state's technical education set-up, the state office may check your diploma with the Directorate. That can take time. We cannot promise a date for a state office. If there is no written request for state verification, the Delhi route is normally the easier option.
Paying for each diploma paper
Sikkim diploma holders pay the same per-paper rates as anyone else in India; the distance only affects courier cost. Of the total, the government keeps Rs 50 per paper as its MEA fee. Our Delhi route package is Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per document, covering the notary, the SDM, the MEA fee and our handling. Courier is billed separately. The Delhi route is usually complete in 2 to 3 working days once we have the papers.
A diploma with six semester mark sheets is seven separate documents. Lateral-entry students have fewer sheets. Ask your employer which ones they need, so you do not pay for papers nobody reads. If you are unsure, contact us with the employer's list and we will plan the file.
Working abroad with a Sikkim diploma
- Send originals only. Photocopies cannot be apostilled.
- Keep the certificate unlaminated, because the MEA needs the back of the paper.
- Match your name to your passport, or add an affidavit.
- Ask whether the employer wants a certified translation of any non-English text.
